> SCRFS Module Error
Bookmark topic
Hi. I have searched the site extensively and cannot find an answer to my query. If the topic's already been covered and an answer is avilable, please let me know and apologies. With my P900, whenever I take the phone off the cradle, I get this message "SCRFS Module has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." When I put the phone back on the cradle, although the Phone Connection Link shows the P900 is connected, the icon for the phone does not appear in my PC's tray and so I cannot sync the phone. I then need to restart the PC in order for the phone to be properly connected. I have now got a P910i and I removed and reinstalled the PC Suite & USB Cradle Driver to those that came with the P910i. But the problem persists. It's driving me up the wall. How can I simply be able to take the phone off and put it on the cradle as many times as I want, and with a connection being established throughout? Thanks.

Have you uninstalled the drivers and pcsuite completely and then reinstalled them?

Yes, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the USB driver and PC Suite a couple of times, but still the problem persists.

I've got the same problem. WinXP SP2. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times too. Logging out and logging back in works the same as a reboot to allow the pc and phone to talk. Any help appreciated on sorting this one out..

It's the process that's crashing. You could manually start the process again by opening it. It should be a .exe.
Please note: This is an educated guess, as I hate windows and have long used a mac.

Thanks for the info. I have tried restarting the service (I assume it's the scrfs.exe application. But even then when I redock the phone, although the Phone Connection Link shows the phone is connected, the mobile monitor does not show up and I cannot sync etc to the phone. It's really driving me up the wall. Anyone with further advice, please?

*Think* I might have a fix for this one.
I was having some problems with http traffic on my machine and in the process of sorting it, I did a reset of the winsock catalog (I also did a bunch of other stuff, so I am not sure on this fix). After the trouble was fixed, I found that there were no more scrfs module errors.
Winsock repair stuff is detailed here ==>

I've been having the same problems, in Windows 2000 (latest SP). Unfortunately, the Winsock fix you proposed is on a WinXP forum, so I'm not sure if it will work on Win2k.
I've only been getting the errors since I upgraded my P800 to a P910i - I still had a v1.2.? of the PC Suite (the one released at the time of the P900), so I thought perhaps it was an incompatibility with the 910, and upgraded to the latest (v1.3.3). But I'm still getting the same error - it happens whenever I disconnect the phone, either from the sync cradle or by IR.
For Outlook, it means I only get to sync once between reboots; for Backup, I can't, because the phone restarts and hence disconnects as part of the process, and the backup hangs. I've tried re-running SCRFS.EXE manually, and it does run in the processes, but the phone still won't connect.

I had this same problem (SCRFS error and not able to synchornise by P910i). I tried re-installing the connectivity suite 3 tries (which did not help) and adding all the programs to my Norton firewalls permitted list of programs (as per the readme file with the connectivity) suite, which helped a bit but not solve the problems.
I finally found that my memory stick was corrupted. When it was removed, synchronisation worked fine. Try it, it worked well for me.
