The P910i is limited to 10m. The Rob 1 can communicate upto 50m away when connected to a computer (i presume with a long rabge dongle on the computer).

works like this, the P910 will only be able to communicate with the ROB-1 up to 10m. Any further and you will not be able to control the ROB-1

The ROB-1 can send data to the P910 from as far away as 50m. So at 50m the ROB-1 can transmit to the phone, but the phone can't send anything back. Theoretically you should still be able to receive pictures at that range even if you can't control the robot.

I dont think like that. When you want to send a file to a dongle for ex., at first the phone send a "wink" to the device and starts sending file when it receives the reply. In my opinion, sending a file from 50 m. will be enable. On the other hand, the problem is what is the maximum distance, is it the maximum range of devices or total range both of them, ex. 50(dongle) + 10m. (phone) =60 m. ???

Though as giving an apple to someone using your arms opened...

no, maximum distance is not cumulative. For two-way connections you are limited to the range of the shorter device. However, a one-way connection is limited only by the range of the transmitting device.
