I was trying to use the sony ericsson update service online for my sony ericsson k500i and at a certain point I got the following error messsage
also how do I check what firmware I got on my sony ericsson k500i and what is the latest?

As the message says, your operator does not allow the use of the Sony Ericsson Update Service. They may do in the future, but at present, the only way to update officially is at your nearest SE service centre.

As ive posted previously...

I tried doing an update on my K500i yesterday. It came up with a message which was odd.

So i called the Sony Ericsson Support number, they've confirmed that there's a problem and they have informed the Sony Ericsson website team. He said that they'll contact me to let me know when it's up and running.

So if your getting error messages (not restricted service messages) don't fear .

I think that may be a "standard response". I was involved in an email conversation with SE for about 6 weeks as there was a problem with updating the K700i on Orange using the SEUS. Their final response was that it's impossible to find the cause. Now I have unbranded and I am so pleased.

Update service over the internet is a hit or miss. Sometimes it will even make your phone useless.

It's back on-line, got an email sayin that the Sony Ericsson team are working on it, seems like they have cuz i've finally updated .

Get updating to those who havent .

Probs using SEUS from UK - enter all details battery charged etc and click next, window blanks and text at bottom of explorer says Applet Started but nothing happens.

Tried stopping Firewall, Privacy etc but no luck

Any ideas???
