> P910i bluetooth connection closes immediately

I have a P910i and I am trying to connect to my PC (win XP) using bluetooth (built in bluetooth in Dell Laptop) in order to sync with outlook.
As soon as I connect, I get an error message saying that the connection has been closed by the remote device - I also get a message saying that I should use COM port 0 (there is no COM port 0 on my machine - I have set everything up as per instructions on Sony Ericsson website for COM port 6).
I then get a message saying that the connection has been successful (bluetooth icon in taskbar goes green and phone shows connection on screen). However, the serial port icon which should also go green does not, and the status of the connection stays disconnected. After about ten seconds, the connection icon on the phone goes back to normal, and the bluetooth icon in the taskbar goes back to white - so it is like the connection never gets fully established. Also, the phone connection link never connects.
I have spent the entire day reading through postings and help pages on the internet and cannot find anything to solve the problem. I have followed all the instructions from the Sony Ericsson website, and I think all the COM port settings are ok.
I understand from some of the postings I have read that the PC contacts the phone which then drops the connection and effectively 'calls back'. It seems that the error messages are caused by this, but then most other people who see this say that the connection works fine after this. In my case the connection seems to be trying to set up and some initial connection seems to take place but it cannot complete. Can anyone help with this?
