There are two K700: K700i (America and Europe) And K700c (Japan and so...)
maybe that was your question about... and both play mp3's as ringtones

There is no phone called the k700. Its either the k700i where 'i' stands for international which is the one for most markets globally or the k700c which is mainly for the 'chinese' market. Both of them play mp3s as ringtones but they dont play mp3(or any other kinda tones for that matter) as message tones...you're stuck with the predefined ones i'm afraid.

The K7 doesn't have mp3 ringtones if it has Vodafone firmware though as they kindly disabled that feature!

PS welcome to Esato

Customized message tones are welcome anyway. This message was posted from a T230

I wish I could change the message tones, whereas it doesn't worry me about mp3 ringtones. I have several thousand polyphonic midi ringtones to keep me happy, and I only use one anyway (an old phone ringing).

@whizzkid, we're a dying breed!

I like the old phone ring (polyphonic, sounds VERY realistic), and laugh myself silly when people look around for the old phone. It get's everyone, young kids, old people, even technophobes!
