On my t68 I could use the Vodafone UK WAP (dial-up) settings to check my yahoo email through the POP3 client, despite my contract being with Orange (the email would not work through Orange WAP). Is it possible to do anything like this with the k700i (on Orange), or do I have to resort to paying for GPRS? Is this just a loophole that has been plugged?
Also, on the SE website WAP configurator, it does not have an option to send Vodafone WAP settings to the K700i, but it does for the t68. Anyone know why?

The settings for the t68 should work on the K700 too. I think.

You could manually enter the settings lookin at your t68i rather than the settings being send to you. Its a bit tricky, but all you need correctly are the apn and the ip address. Rest can be compromised.

It's dial-up I'm talking about, so I guess it will be the number instead of the APN. I tried to manually enter the Vizzavi WAP details, but it would not connect.

Did you try receiving the settings from the wap configurator? Try it.

I used the configurator for the t68, but the k700i one does not have Vizzavi as an option. The mistake was referring to an APN with a dial-up connection.
Even if I used the t68 one and entered my number (for my k700i), it does not receive the configuration.
I just tried using Vizzavi WAP in my old t68 to check yahoo mail and it no longer works, saying "server not found". I guess it was a loophole they plugged. Shame.
Thanks for your attempts and have a nice weekend.

Strange. I have managed to receive settings of other country operators to my number.
