More info needed. Did the phone behave like this before the update? This message was posted from a T230

Sounds like a dodgy update.

I had my S700 updated from R3B002 to R3K004 and it has worked flawlessly.

I would get it reflashed

Ive only had the phone for 3 weeks, and only seen it reboot 2 or 3 times, the screen goes black but fuzzy like its crashed then just reboots, anyway ill take it back to the service centre its local let them take a look, im still in my 30day peace of mind garantie i could cancel this contract and wait for the z800, which phone would you go for? s700 or z800

I am on my second s700i due to the rebooting problem. The problem seems be a product of the way it is interacting with the MS. I have had the S/W flashed once after receiving a new one. I no longer use the 128 MS, but use either the standard 32 or the 64. I think the data xfer from the MS to the phone is causing it to crash. I do not have a 128 mb MS Duo Pro, so I can not check it but with my 64 mb MS Duo Pro with Magic Gate, I have no reboot problems.

If it is rebooting with the 32 mb MS card, I would then say that it is a design flaw. One thing to check, does it reboot when using BT as in connected to a headset? Mine crashed when on the phone, connected to the HBH-660.

P.S. I have tried the 128 mb MS in my z1010 and it works flawlessly which makes me think that it is the combination of the 128 and the s700i. My 10 year old daughter loves the fact that she has now has a z1010 with a 128 mb MS so that she can record and play more now.

After it reboots, try taking the battery out, so that there is no power to the phone. Remove the MS. Put the battery back in, and the MS. Turn on the phone. When yours reboots, does the screen blank and then go white, and then it appears to go back to the same point just before the reboot?
