Sorry guys, but I just wanted to know as I am visiting the local argos today with my sister, can this dvd player play imports?

Region 2 means it can only play movies from Europe.

What's the make and model? Most these days can be made multi region by typing a key combination into the remote.

that's true, however i found out that this sony dvd player and many other one's by sony, need to be chipped...is this a more appropriate one:

it looks like there are two, the normal one..DVPNS355
ans the multi-regional one..DVPNS355MR (Which is in the link above)
so, does the DVPNS355MR look okay to play imports?

one last question though, how do i know if my tv is ntsc compatible, i can't find the manual anywhere so i don't even know the model no.

the compatibility is about the DVD player as long as it is multi region
you dont need to worry about the tv
