Hi all! I downloaded a theme "P910_ROB1" from the SonyEricsson website and installed it on my P910i. It's a great theme with a super screensaver et al! But ever since I installed the theme, I can't uninstall it! I can't even change the theme! Help!!!

Just installed it and it is a really nice theme but I don't like the screensaver much myself.
I can delete it and/or switch theme with no problem BUT I can't set any ring tones! I can't even get to the sounds& alerts section as Control Panel shuts down.
There are clearly some issues with this theme.

You should be able to remove the theme manually with a System file manager, go to:
C:\system\data\themes\installed

I've tried removing & re-installing it but with the same results.
I've also renamed it before & after installation.
Maybe I'll try editing it on the PC to find the problem.

OK, just renamed it as a .zip file & deleted the ringtones (which are poor). Renamed it to a .utz file & installed, now it works just fine.

Thanks a pile, mate! I tried to delete the file from C:\system\data\themes\installed but it said it can't delete file as it is in use. So I used that age old trick of backing up the phone, and while it was being backed up, I deleted the theme file with a System file manager. Phone restarted and its fine now, I can change themes as before!
BTW, just how do you remove/delete files without following the above procedure (backing up so all files don't load) to remove such system files? Isn't there a "Safe Mode" startup like in Windows XP?

@ vvrrmandiga

Some files in the phone are "in use", such as theme files, and therefore cannot be deleted. There isn't any facility such as "Safe Mode" start up in Windows computers which starts up only a minimum files. Hence, to delete such "in use" files (in case such a deletion is absolutely essential) -- one could start the back up process, and after the phone has restarted for back up, use a file manager to delete such files because they aren't "running" during back up.
However, one has to be careful not to delete any files which would prevent the phone from restarting!! It's not a very clean way of doing it, but it's the only one I know! Would be happy if someone told me of a better way....
