I've downloaded sman 1.3 and would also like to add in the icon pack from modellista. In the instructions it asks me to copy one of the mbm files to a place on the phone's c: drive.
My problem is when I look in the file manager I can see the data files but not the system files. I've ensured that hidden files and system files are visible but no joy. Am I missing something really simple here???

Welcome to Esato
The built in 'File Manager' app does not show system files. For this you will need a third party file manager.
SMan has one in it but I don't like it much. The best ones (by far) are HandyExplorer and FileMan.

Thanks for the welcome - the two progs you mention - will they allow me to transfer files from PC to phone?
Thanks for the reply.

No they are apps which run ON the phone.
You can transfer files from the PC using the SyncStation & s/w provided.
Alternative methods are:
-IR adapter - slow but reliable.
-Bluetooth adapter - fast but less reliable
-MemoryStick reader - fastest & easiest

Oh man, dont install the icon pack. The last person(gardar) who did that in his p910 had to format his internal drive.

I've managed to transfer data files - pictures etc using the desktop sync station - should I be able to view the system files on the phone from the PC or do I need other software for this? Cheers again

I previously installed it on my P900 with no problems at all. The icons are better than the standard ones but not that good. U mostly can't tell what they are but they just look a bit more professional

Again the supplied s/w doesn't show system files and again there are third party ones that do.
Take a trip to my-symbian.com & u'll find one.
