> Getting rid of T-Mobile fireware?
Bookmark topic
I just recently bought a K700i from T-Mobile, and want to get rid of the software because I hate there fireware. It always say T-Zones in PINK, on the stand-by menu! There are also some themes and pictures which I cannot delete because T-Mobile protected them. And also it say T-Mobile every time I turn the phone off.
I was wondering if I got the latest firmware would I be able to get it? It is locked on ESL.
Can anyone help me? Please?
Thanks!

Yep, you can flash it with DaVinci or TMS. Have a search and you'll find plenty of info about them.

Will a SE Centre be able to flash it?

They'll be able to update the firmware, but they won't unbrand it for you. If you want to unbrand a branded phone, you can get a shop to do it, but I'd do it yourself. It's cheaper and easier.
If you need any help, drop me a PM.

Well I don't know how to do it myself and don't want to buy a product just for that.
I might try a shop, any other ideas?

I have a P910i with T-Mobile UK.
What would be better for me?
DaVinci or TMS?
I have the T-Zones crap they install on each phone.
Many thanks in advance,

I used Davinci to unbrand my phone and it worked perfectly well, however i have heard quite a few people complain and there are few complaints about TMS so it really is a matter of choice.

What else is needed?
The software and which cable?

You need a T28 service cable (not data cable), which you can find on eBay. This will work with both DaVinci and TMS. With DaVinci, you can also use a DSS-25, but only with DaVinci.
