I have my own mail server, i want to use my phone to download E-mail, it wont connect to my server, ALL the settings are correct, spelled right and everything, any ideas?

I need some more info like how are you connecting to the server bluetooth /gprs/gsm, are you using pop3 stuff like that

If your server is behind a firewall (either at the end of a high speed line or via Windows XP dialup) check that you have port 110 opened in the firewall. Also make sure that you have the IP address in the Email settings specified rather than a domain name. Also make sure that you have the IP address of your SMTP server specified. Make sure that your email server will allow your SMTP connection. I am sure that the T68 first sends mail using SMTP before collecting using POP, so if it cannot get the SMTP connection it will fail in the POP attempt also.

Also maker sure you use your phone providers smtp server rather than you internet providers cos it won't work...

Make sure your service provider's data connection (Vodafone, O2 etc.) actually allows you to connect through to your server.

For instance, Vodafone's CSD connection will allow you to access POP and SMTP servers on the internet, but the GPRS connection used for WAP will not (you have to use a different APN for internet access on GPRS).
