I am quite the anti-microsoft actually, and when the day comes that mac makes an ibook that doesnt need to be repaired within 6 months (mine was, twice, and so far 3 times since then) and it can run all software I need, ill use one.

You must've been very unlucky with your iBook. I had one for over 3 years which never had a single problem. I sold it to one of my friends about 6 months ago and its still going strong!
Two friends also have different model iBooks and both have never had a single problem.
I guess you had a 'Friday afternoon' one!!

Well, here's the story:
My School ordered laptops for everyone in the senior school (we pay enough, so meh) and EVERY single one has been returned at one point of another, usually for failed "logic-boards" (MOtherboard to everyone else
) or a corrupt hard drive etc.
Now these were all the g3 ibooks, but this year, they got some new g4s for the new year 9s. Right, well, my brother is in that year, and he's had to send it in once so far (an improvement, but still not acceptable) and they took 2-3 weeks to get it back.
