here in the USA most people don't know all the things cellphones can do and just take whatever phone comes with the service (and as you can see in the polls, it's usually a phone by one of those brands). that's my opinion anyway, i didn't actually research this!
also, i think motorola is the only one that advertises on TV regularly.
