Whenever I place the phone on the cradle and attempt to connect, it starts connecting but goes on forever without actually ever connecting. Help please

I've tried it with a different program and it works perfectly, so it isn't a problem anymore. But I'd still like to fix it.
I think it's because I used the cradle with a p900 before, I've installed the driver and everything from the s700i cd but it still doesn't display "My S700i" or "S700i" in "My phones".
And uh whats with the copper contacts, I guess that isn't the problem, as it works with different programs. Must be a software error then. Thanks anyway
