I have install'd nfs ug2. Installation is complete, but the game is highly pixelated. The display is black. The map area shows some wierd char mainly something that looks like z. I have updated directx, install'd latest tnt2 drivers and dxdiag shows no errors. Increased and manually set page file to 1000mb. Nothing in the help section. Also tried opening nfs5, the game hangs b4 menu screen. I'm able to race in nfs ug2, i just go on hitting "enter". Menu cannot be read and is mainly black and white. HELP!

Can you read / change the 'display' options in the games' menu? Sounds like the game is switching to a low resolution and colour depth when it starts up.

I cant read it. I just kept on hitting enter to start the game. It is very horrible. I have seen the menu b4. So i know how it is supposed to be. Desktop settins are 1024x768x32. Yes the game uses a lower res but does it change color depth too. If this is the case, how do i go about fixing it? This message was posted from a K500

I think its time for a new graphics card my friend, regardless of whether thats the cause of the problem . TNT2? I have 2 of those spare, just sitting here!

Sorry but EA games are picky with graphic cards, to able to run most of EA games you should have a good one.

If you downloaded the last driver, directx, patches, tweaks, ... and still have the same result then it's your graphic card

as i told the issue is the same with nfs5 that used to run fine on the system, (so i know it works, but damn this time it is stubborn, worse, no errors to help me solve the problem, PC just says no errors....) i changed the processor and motherboard b4 the format, i have put in AMD sempron and a asus mobo? could that be the reason? it used to work fine on my P4 before it went kaput. sfter the format; and then it too has stopped working. anything that uses the hardware portion of the card hangs... this is how the menu looks...

the bottom right corner should be syaing "race" or "quit" or something like that.... see the trouble?

You could try using the Nvidia settings console (should appear as an icon in the system tray) to force the game to use the resolution and colour depth that you desire rather than having it on the default 'software controlled' settings.

Other than that, I'm afraid that I'm inclined to agree with the other guys, those games don't like your card, or at least your card in the new mobo
