I was wondering, how many people would like to see a non touchscreen but keypad Symbian handset made by Sony Ericsson? Maybe this wouldnt have to be in the P-series seeing as it wouldnt be a PDA but none the less lets have a vote as im interested to see if there would be a market for a keypad design Symbian handset by S.E. That'd be a grave move.Buttons are only good for gaming. You can't beat stylus n screen. When it comes to browsing,it's at least 2 to 3 times for fast and direct than my s60.Browsing with buttons is a ballache. This message was posted from a Nokia

It would be a good move in terms of marketing as it would attract customers that dont like bulky phones with touch screens. Personally now that i am used to using a touch screen i wouldnt buy a phone without a touch screen.

UIQ v3.0 will provide this as it will give SE a Symbian platform which can be used in both touchscreen phones AND phones with convential form factor with buttons etc.
SE can finally expand their range of smartphones when UIQ 3 is ready & it will be exciting to see what they come up with.
A Symbian S-Series would be sweet

UIQ3 supports non-touchscreens so obviously se plans to make some. But touchscreens will still stay around. I can't wait to get one but can't even afford a P800 right now. :-( This message was posted from a T630

Just because UIQ will support something, it doesn't mean will use it. Don't forget that Motorola uses UIQ and so do other brands. Also, it seems as though UIQ 3 is meant to replace some of the Nokia platforms since it is going to start supporting doft keys and such.

Huh buddies ,I hope you are right but just keep in mind,as you read this Nokia already has a huge smartphone base out there.Actually 1 in 3 smartphones sold is a Nokia S60 with another third been S40 . Se only developed smartphones last year and the p910i was the last one to be released.Yes by now they have finally realized their mistake for not developing a keypad smartcell, but I think is too late :-( This message was posted from a Nokia 7650
