Ive noticed that after I changed my flip closed wallpaper from an animated gif to a jpeg that my battery is not draining as quick. Or maybe Im imagining it. Does anyone, technically minded, know if an animated FC wallpaper wuld sap more power than a non animated wallpaper. It looks cool but Id rather have a full battery!

I don't have a 'technical' answer, but it would seem that a gif might take more power than a jpeg. By the way, from where could one get gif wallpapers for a P910i?

IMHO, yup.. The animated Graphics indeed will drain more battery power.. You have to think the processor also need to move the graphics along.. Just like we do..
In Human being, who likes to walking while u can drive ? Same things as applied here.. hehe

IMHO it probably drains a bit more battery, but not as much as some people say.
But I guess it also depends on *how long* is the time interval between the frames of the animated gif. Some gifs animate quite fast!
But since most people probably already already have bad behaved software running in the background, I guess you will not notice much difference.

I too believe that it could drain the battery a bit quicker because it uses more memory as it animates the image continuously

It would drain the battery more cos of the timing routines for displaying the animation, it is mentioned in the developer info. I wouldnt worry about it too much tho, the batt life is pretty bad anyway and it wont make that much difference, the amount you use the phone, bluetooth, screen backlight etc have much more impact on battery life.

Thank for all your comments. The battery is still draining faster than I think it should though.

Well, the P910 isn't exactly famous for it's long battery life between charges
Are you using sman to close unecessary apps running in the background and only having bluetooth switched on when you need to? That makes a small (but noticible) difference on my phone.
