Hey,
Just recently I have had problems with my S700i and sms messaging, sometimes I will receive the same message 20-30 times over, or i will get massive delays on the messages coming in.
I called the provider and they saw that the messages were not delivered due to the phone being unable to be contacted, I get full signal where I live and i leave the phone on all the time, he suggested that manufacturers recommend the phone gets turned off and back on every 24-48 hours, i did this and it seemed to fix the problem of massive delays on the received of sms's,but still duplicates. He suggested I talk to the manufacturer to see if there are any issues.
Whats the latest version of S700i firmware in Australia?
And how do I find out what version I am currently running ?

First make sure you SMS ACCESS setting is set to GSM. This is under CONNECTIVITY >>> DATA COMMUNICATION. Some S700 s are delivered with this set to GPRS. Hope this helps.
