Please note I am focussing on PAYG UK call and text costs, not wap/ gprs costs. Obviously we all have different needs and some will probably moan that I'm not bothering to include these, but I keep the wap stuff for my contract phone. Feel free to add these costs in this forum if you wish...after all, knowledge is power!

These are the best prices I have found to date, in no particular order:

1. Tesco Mobile
(In conjunction with 02)
Select 3 favourite numbers and pay 10p/min anytime to these.(These can be to any UK network or landline.)
All other numbers, landline or other UK networks cost 20p anytime.
Voicemail 10p. Texts 5p to 3 fave numbers, all others 10p.

2. Easymobile
(Stelios strikes again!)
15p calls to any UK network or landline at any time.
5p text to all UK networks.
15p voicemail.
Simcard costs £20, but comes pre-loaded with £20 airtime!
There is also a promotion at the mo: 6p calls to networks and 2p texts until June.

3. Mobile World
(from www.carphonewarehouse.com)
SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper international calls, 15p calls to any UK network anytime, 7p texts to UK networks, 15p international texts.
15p voicemail.

4. Virgin
15p to other Virgin phones for 1st 5 mins, then 5p thereafter.
35p to ther networks, but if you take the bundles on a monthly basis, this can work out much cheaper.
See www.virgin.com/mobile for 'bundle' offers.
Free voicemail if there is credit on the phone.

5. 02: 300 texts for £10 amonth.
CHEAPEST PAYG international texts: one-off fee of £4.99 and then 10p per text. See www.02.co.uk/itt

The nature of this post is to mention the best PAYG prices in the UK at the moment... hope this is helpful to some of you out there.

If you know about cheaper rates/ tariffs, let us all know!

Slightly ot, so I'm sorry for that, but the new loyalty deals with o2 (as advertised on TV!) look pretty impressive (10% off etc). I've checked them out on the website and there don't seem to be any catches.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but even with 10% extra after 3 months (as per their website), that still doesn't come close to some of the prices already mentioned here, especially when it's 40p to other networks during peak times. A simple sum: 40p less 10% ('rewarded' to you after 3 months) = 4p off per minute, therefore 36p a minute for cross-network peak calls..?
Maybe I'm too frugal, but don't I fancy yours much,O2.
Same goes for Orange's current 'prepay repay' scheme, ie. £5 back for every £10...
£10 of cross-network @40p/ min = 25 minutes + 12.5 minutes extra with the special = 37.5 minutes.
Still not as cheap as Tesco or Easymobile etc.
I KNOW I AM ONLY GOING ON CROSS-NET,PEAK TIME PRICES, everyone's requirements are obviously different...

Prices are the same as their very own Mobile World as you mentioned in the first post, minus the cheap international calls. Fresh do have quite a good promotion on at the mo as well, for a limited time of course...
