Hi
I was on the brink of buying a Sharp 902 over the SE v800, but then Blaukraut posted this in another thread....
===========
do NOT buy a sharp v902
It looks promising and the camera quality is great (and it supports UMTS and Phone TV, but it has millions of flaws to ruin the fun.
1. It's big
2. Vodafone Branding that CANNOT be removed
3. When you're calling someone, you can't hear them unless you turn on the handsfree mode. Even in a quiet environment.
4. No mp3s as ringtones, except from vodafone for lots of money
5. Camera takes a long time to take a picture, and if anything moves within that time (even only 1 cm) it gets blurry.
6. The microphone isn't even decent, I've called a hotline asking if I can trade the phone for a S700i and 90% of the time he couldn't understand what I was saying.
7. The Menu is slow due to vodafone forced menu.
8. As far as I know you can't install anything that isn't from vodafone (Atleast not games, as far as I know. Prove me wrong.)
9. 111 x 51 x 27,5 MM and 149 G, bulky and heavy. Opened up it's nearly 14 centimeters long.
10. It's ring tone isn't loud enough on MOST available ringtones (When a SE p900 rings, you can hear it at the other end of the street)
11. The picture viewer is terrible, takes long to load and can't even view pictures at full screen.
12. The keys aren't sensitive enough (That might be just because I've been using a p900 [touchscreen] before and got used to it. Just my opinion.)
13. The camera and display get easily scratched and dirty. Other than my p900, which I've had for a year and no major problems with the display (no problems at all actually), the camera of the v902 doesn't have a lid or anything to protect it from getting dirty and getting scratched. Albeit it's a 2 megapixel camera, and has pretty big lens. The display also attracts lots of dust, etc.
14. Someone asked about bluetooth problems with pc, I've read that the phone constantly disconnects.
Now for some good points:
1. 2MP Camera
2. UMTS and VIDEO
3. Good mp3 playback quality
4. Decent display
===================
Do people agree with these points?
I keep waiting and waiting for a good phone, but it seems when one comes out another is around the corner.....
I was all set to buy the v800 until I read all the dissing of Vodafone branding... Yes you can unbrand it but even after reading umteen threads on the subject, it just seems too much hastle to do.. People say it's simple but it really isn't...
So today is Monday....The official z800 is around the corner, but if I wait...My eye will catch another. I've waited long enough...SO....
v800 (chances are I'll not be able to debrand it)
OR
Sharp 902
ORRR
Another phone I've overlooked?
Thanks
Jon

Well some points are right, no mobile phone is perfect.
Yes it is big, but compair it to a P910 or a S700i, not much size difference. The camera is the best to this date.
read the review at
www.mobile-review.com
I think their reviews are pretty good.
The screen is of high quality (very sharp

) 320x240 resolution @260k colours.
You'll be suppriced how nice the phone is when you work with it. Bright and sharp screen, fast menu, good bluetooth, clear voice etc, etc...

iv got both and feel they both have their strong points
they both GOOD,
the sharp is better when taking pics just it takes a while to save, while the v800 is better when taking spy pics.

1 reason go to a strip joint with it leave it on the table closed like normal but aim the cam in the chosen direction, make sure you got a 124mb or bigger stick and record as much as you want!!!!
theres others but thats the best iv tried and its worth it i would have bought if i didnt get it for free!
