Now theres a question.
The CCD in the S700 is excellent but I have never seen the results of a 2MP with CMOS so cannot really say but read this:
"CMOS imagers offer superior integration, power dissipation and system size at the expense of image quality (particularly in low light) and flexibility. They are the technology of choice for high-volume, space constrained applications where image quality requirements are low. This makes them a natural fit for security cameras, PC videoconferencing, wireless handheld videoconferencing, bar-code scanner, fax machines, consumer scanners, toys, biometrics and some automotive in-vehicle uses.
CCDs offer superior image quality and flexibility at the expense of system size. They remain the most suitable technology for high-end imaging applications, such as digital photography, broadcast television, high performance industrial imaging and most scientific and medical applications."

May be that is the reason why the S700 is as large as it is, and I guess the reason SE chose the CMOS because of the size contraints of the K750 design.

@Private
I have your same dilema. I like the S710a (American version of the S700). Im willing to wait, however if the difference is not much I will get the S710a.
Can anyone share a little more light on this topic?

forget the lens just try them out and see for yourself im sure that you can make a crap camera using a ccd lens in the same way you can have great pics from cmos
see is often the best way in my opinion

@goldenface., thanks for the info. Does it mean that 1.3 mp ccd takes better pictures than 2.0 mp cmos? Pictures in s700 thread are very sharp as well as pictures taken from k750. I'm unable to decide.

I think the best thing to do is to wait for a comparison.
Some lucky person will own both a S700i and a K750i soon.

Im completely convinced that the K750 takes superior quality pictures than the S700i. The reason not everyone is convinced is because we've seen some pretty poor pictures taken with the K750 so far.
Once Esato users get their hands on the phone, it'll be much easier to see, but for now, this little comparison works for me:

@goldenface. You are right. Must wait till some sort of pic comparison and then decide. Cannot rely compeletly on pics taken from k750 at present.

Depends on the lighting sunlight can change from one minute to the next. A shake in the camera can also set off what the picture would have look like.
The S700 is entirely in focus while the k750 has some blurred areas.
Again I agree that more example will be needed. It also depends on the photographer. I'm thinking of buying the the S710a and compare the two myself. Worst case scenario, I will end up with two phones.
That's ok. I consider both phones to have their own strenghts.
S710a has EDGE technology as well.
