I'm trying SmartMovie but I can't get it to work.

The converter lets me convert all the stuff (MPEGs, AVI, etc), and all converted files play just fine in Windows Media Player.

When I transfer them to the MemoryStick, SmartMovie does not list them! Is as if they don't exist!

The only file I converted that SmartMovie did recognize was converted from an MP4!

Help!? I'm out of ideas...

PS: Yes, I installed the XviD.SIS. The converted MP4 plays just fine in the phone.

Yes, I close an re-open SmartMovie with every file, just in case.

And no, SMan calls SmartMovie, but it does not open the file selected with SMan.

Do youn think it's because of some configuration when compressing the files?

Nope.
Since SmartMovie does not list them in it's internal list, I think it recognized something wrong in the AVI file.
What can it be?
I'm starting to think it's due to the Lame MP3 codec.

no, that cant be. im using the lame mp3 codec, it works fine.
The only other reason now is that ur files do not have a .avi extention. which is bizzare.
Are you sure your rescaning the file system? theres an option in SmartMovie to do that. closing and re-opening SmartMovie does not rescan the file system lau.

right.I never had a single prob although the player broke down once and i had to re-install.But here it's either some settings (post 'em here,so we check 'em) or u don't know how to rescan for newer files. And ,yes, if u click an file with SMan it should start the Smart Movie Player. One more thing:download a video clip or a movie from the net and if urphone plays that,it's ur convertor's settings for sure. Many many thanks guys!!!
It was the damn refresh menu option!!

Do you know how long I've been trying to figure out this thing??

It's not obvious and it's almost hidden!!
I thought it scanned the directories every time it started, like 99.999% of all programs!!

Thank you guys. You are great!!
