Funny, I was in exactly the same position with two T68i phones with software versions R2A014 and R2B025. Freaky.

Anyway, the difference in software is that the R2B025 is the NEWER software, there may have been a few glitches fixed and tuned - but the only real noticable difference as far as the user interface is concerned is the use of "CANDIDATES" in the Write SMS option.

When writing an SMS, the new version will pop up a window to offer you a list of "candidates" for the word the phone thinks you are trying to type (you can switch this off, of course). In the old version of the software you have to manually press the OPTION BUTTON and select option 8 for CANDIDATES.

As for the battery, the Lithium-Ion is identically made in Japan - guess you can check the finish to see which matches the phone you intend to keep!

R2F has just come out! Ive got it, its quicker than R2E. You can't do it yourself, you have to go to your nearest service centre!

Definitely check the mAh, if they are the same then it shouldn't matter unless one batter has been badly maintained and/or not conditioned properly when you got it. Go with whichever you think lasts longer (in real, rather than quoted terms - it takes a minute for the phone to measure the current from the battery). Bear in mind that it's not an exact science and there will be some flucuations between batteries anyway.

As for the light, I didn't notice any difference with mine! Go with the newer, brighter one?
