My Sony k700i is having some serious reception problems. It goes from full bars to 1 bar in matter of seconds. The other day i was trying to change my housing and i did, but after that i have been getting the worst reception known to man. I know its not my service. Can someone plz help me by letting me know any way i can fix this problem or what the problem can be. Thanks..

are u sure ur new housing is an original sony ericsson
becoz der is a lot of immataion out der
the k700i uses its outer shell as a form of reception transmitter
the material used on the battery case is predefined for signal strength and reception quality...
it maybe that u have NOT connected the housing properly or ur housing is a immatation.
ur best bet is to take it to ur nearest sony service center and get them to have a look at it, but rememba DONT tell them that uv tryd sum D.I.Y on it or they may jus say ur warranty is void.
Best of luck anyway Mate.

You can update the firmware at the se service center. Its free under warranty. Or you can update it at home using a sync-station.

They may look at the screw holes to see if they have been tampered with. Sometimes they put a colored filler down in the holes. You can then see when the screws were backed out, and if they can determine this, you are out of luck dude.

I suppose if the reception bar drops from 5 to 1 in a second, maybe it is because the reception is really dropping like that? I have that at different locations. In my house I know a spot where it is almost zero and 30 cm away it is full.

I put my sim into my other phone and i get full reception, and my other phone is the craper one by far. So it has to be the phone. Now the phone might have been droped, not sure. Because i got it off of ebay. Would this matter, if so is it a fixable problem? Thanks.
