there is no apps for the pxxx phones that can do what you want as it is not possible to record an incoming call .this is because of a law that SE work under i think and it is fixed in the hardware of the phone so no software will ever be released
hope this helps or not as the case may be

I have used Samsung phones having this facility. It's quite handy indeed especially when somebody calls you and say you're taking a bath. So at least the caller could leave a message so that you would know before hand what he wants when you call him back. You could also record a message saying that you are in a meeting that's why you could not answer the phone at the moment instead of not answering the call at all. Would it really be nice if SE phone have one.

Wouldn't it just serve the same purpose as voicemail on your network? i dont see the point?

well...in case you are living in a country where everything = $$$, you would appreciate having the answering service on ur own phone. subscription to voice mail is subjected to subscription fees and air time, like here in Singapore, it's not worth the money. There are times when the network is purposely (I supposed so) blocked so that you are unreachable and the voicemails triggers....but u check, you did not move from your location nor did the network signal drop.
Besides, having it on a network is dangerous since someone else can listen in to ur messages via a password and any phone. on our own mobile? who can, except u who have access to the phone physically.

My voicemail is with the service provider,I have the pin to access it from another phone other than my mobile. Apart from the obvious reasons for not wanting some bored techie to trawl through my voicemail, I wouldn't really care whether they listened to it or not. The messages that are left on it by my callers aren't exciting enough to excite a kid with adhd. anyhow I erase them once I have listened to them anyway.
I don't know how your phone is setup but if you don't have voicemail and you don't want to answer it, on a p910 you can send busy rather than reject the call. The other party can ring back later, this of course depends on your diverts which are network dependant anyway.
