I'm wanting to upgrade my K700 to a S700 but my local O2 shop tells me that Sony Ericsson are Recalling all there S700 because of software problems. Is this true or are the O2 staff talking nonsense?

O2 did recall all S700s to update the software. The recall ahs been carried out and all O2 S700s should have R3L software on them.

Another view on that is that they have sold their stock & SE are not shipping new stock of old models as they may be about to ship several new models such as K750

Why I haven't heard of a 'recall' with the K700i too then mates? It has firmware problems as well - poor battery life + bugs!

I went 2 the link and asked them about this recall and they reckon it woz the K700i that woz recalled

i think all the phone shop staff talk shit, but they offered me a gud deal for a new contract, 1000 of peak mins to O2 & Landlines, 25 off peak mins xnetwork & 100 free texts a month & would throw in the S700 for free, that would be for a £20 a month contract, is this a gud deal or cud i get a beta deal somewhere else.

If its a genuine product recall then it'll be posted on the

website, if you're unsure about a recall - check their website first. (As per things like the charger recalls that have happened in the past)
If its an operator recall, then it should be on their webpage (ie orange recalling the model but not effecting anyone else)
