> K300 and picture transfer

I have a humble T230 and I'm going to buy a new phone soon. My first thought was to buy a T610, since it was so good when I bought the T230, but I figured its very old and feature-lacking compared to today's new models. My next thought was the new K300i... its got a good display, although a bit small, camera, mp3 playback and a slick design. My only question is... since its kind of an entry level phone, could it have the same problem the T230 has, not allowing picture transfer from phone to pc, rendering the camera pretty useless unless I spend tons of money on emailing my photos to the computer?? The T230 didn't allow file browsing nor picture transfering because of OBEX limitations.. it was only possible to send stuff to the phone. Also, the K300 has only got IrDA and cable connection. So, picture transfer would have to be done by these ways. I've already got a RS232 serial cable I used with the T230... will I be able to use that on the K300 (the socket seems to be the same)?? Also, can picture transfer to the pc, if its possible, be made with this cable or would I have to buy a usb cable or use IrDA to send pictures to PC?? Transfer speed is not a concern....
I know this phone model is kinda new and not much is know about it, compared to the old T610... but I'd really appreciatte if anyone could help me out with these.
Thanks.

I'm from Brazil... the K300i here is something like U$200 and the K700 is U$400 (converting to american dollars)... kind of a good difference... also, I'm gonna buy a tungsten T5 early this year.. so I don't need a phone with so many features.. having a camera and a display with good resolution and color depht is already enough (cause the T5 doesn't have a camera, while the much worse Zire71 has... thats why I want a cell phone with a camera)... but thanks for the advice.

Atleast get the k500i. Finding themes and games for k300 is hard.

Doesn't the k300i support java?? Never had device that supported j2me, but i always thought it was very easy to find games and apps to devices that support java. Isn't it so? Do they have to be made for specific phone models, like those lame mophun games??

Yes it supports J2ME V 2.0 similar to K500 and also supports 3D Java games

Here it would be about U$200 the K300, U$400 the K500 and U$600 the K700... I don't care THAT much for a cell phone to pay more than the initial U$200 for one... so my choices would have to be between the K300 or a T610, which is a little cheaper... I guess the K300 would be the winner here, wouldn't it? I could also get a nokia.. like that strange 6600... it's loaded with features but has an unusual and non-elegant shape, like any nokia.... so I don't know... there's the motorola V300 too... which I think would be even better than the K300 because it has a bigger screen... but I bet it doesn't have so much memory, nor it records videos or support java 3d....
I think the k300 isn't popular yet because its too new.. so its still hard to find themes for it. As for games, I don't know, I suppose java games, in a general way, should work with it, with some exceptions... Is this right?? Cause I don't understand very well this java thing compatibility works... so if anyone could clear this one up for me.. (!!game compatibility is very important factor to me!!)

shocking. how do they form price there actually?
here its
130e for k500
160e for k 300 cause it's new
195e for k 700
then i guess k300 is okay choice for you. i wouldn't give 600 bucks for it even if i had that money.
