> Pro Duo Scam Beware!
Bookmark topic
Hi Guys,
Just thought i would let you know of a scam, that has been going on for some time.
Let me start - I advertised a
512MB Pro Duo on here which i sold in good faith to a trusted buyer. The card was almost brand new and worked perfectly!
a few days after the sale, I had a message telling me that the card was faulty and the buyer wanted it to be replaced!
Now this is the part that becomes interesting, he then wanted it to be replaced by a brand new sealed one? which of course was more money.
In the end, I refunded the Person in question back with goods to that value! (of a brand new one)
Now - Its happened to me
again with a buyer who bought a
1GB Pro Duo from me, same again the card was almost brand new, (2 Months old to be exact) and perfect working order!
He also wanted it to be replaced with a brand new sealed one. which of course meant me purchasing another sealed card and replacing it.
And more money!
So what infact is happening is the buyer in question, or buyers? is buying second hand Pro Duo's at a cheap cost and making out there faulty in order to obtain a brand new one for the same price.
I feel heart broken to say the least, about these people who have tried with success to scam me!
To top it off they have added me to the
A-Z of Not to be trusted Sellers! even after i have replaced one of them with the value of a brand new one.
I will not disclose the person's in question - but please if you are selling and Pro Duo;s be aware of
these two. you can even PM me and i will disclose the persons who should not be trusted and will try and scam you to get that little bit extra. or in the other case alot extra
I must also say that these cards at the time was advertised
NOT Brand new, so i could not replace them without buying new ones!
If i would of sold them Sealed ones there would of been no problems but of course being slightly used, its left the door open for this scam to take place
Be aware!

Why did you have to replace them, why not have the faulty card sent back and just give a refund? then if the cards were still working you could have resold them?

Come on mate - who are you trying to kid!
The cards were working fine, its just that you wanted a brand new one???, for the price of a second hand one?
One question, if the card is faulty - why dont you send it to Sandisk.com for a replacement? I know you wont because there is nothing wrong with the card!
A-Z of non trusted sellers/buyers - I am adding you Right now in that case!
