> Memory stick duo, pro duo please explain
Bookmark topic
I just finished my contract and have got an S700i on the way but don't think I will keep it long as I want a k750i when its released.
My question is can someone tell me what memory the K750i will use as on the se website it says memory stick duo then in a different part of the page pro duo.
Can someone explain to me the difference between these as far as ive worked out there are 3 different types of memory 2 of which are compatible with each other with an adapter as far as I can tell.
Ideally I would like to buy memory which I can temporarily use in the S700i but will work in the K750i (by work in the k750i I mean the fastest transfer rate memory available for it).
Thanks for any help

Memory stick duos are limited to 128 mb. While pro duos can go much higher 1gb or even more! That is the major difference.

K750i DOES support PRO DUO
btw. I've seen quite a few people posting a reply lately and which is wrong and finishing their post saying "but I'm not sure". If you are not sure its best to leave it alone because there are plenty of people who are sure

i had the same doubt a while back..and had posted it on the k750i discussion forum...
rmcrys cleared my doubt...from what i learnt...
pro stands for fast data rate and duo stands for a small size
there are 4 types of cards...
memory stick -> the normal original stick
memory stick pro -> original memory stick with faster data rate
memory stick duo - >smaller sized memory stick
memory stick duo pro ->smaller sized memory stick with a faster data rate...
the k750i supports the 'duo' and 'duo pro' sticks
hope this clears your doubt!!
EDIT: check out rmcrys reply to my doubt here:

PRO DUO devices can support up to 32gb so unless

specifically cripple the firmware to restrict the capacity (which seems unlikely) there is more reason to assume it will take the larger sizes as they become available
