Hey.
I know that the specs say that the DSS-25 needs a PC, but allot hardware says that, and then turns out it can work on a Mac...
Has anyone ever used a DSS-25 with a Mac, or know that it can work?

Cheers

See ya

Short answer is:

Nope, doesn't work really... there's no Mac drivers for it. But you can run it under VirtualPC, but don't think of upgrading your firmware this way as it will trash your phone! Stick to Bluetooth for syncing.

Long answer is:

There are some generic drivers for the chipset used in the DSS-20/25 floating around on the internet (PL-2303 I think it is). Some people claim to have got it to work, but I never could. And as the Sony Ericsson software for syncing with a cable is not available for Mac, you can't do much with it.

Unfortunately you can't update your firmware on a Mac at all... you'll just have to bite the bullet and find a friendly Windows user to help out!!

Have a search on here for Sony Ericsson Service Centres and you should either find one near you, or the number for SE to call (0870 something), and they'll tell you where you can get it done for free.
