hi all!
i have a windows xp pc and blueyonder 1 mb broadband internet connection...
i was just wandering, how would i be able to make my computer wifi, so that when my psp comes, i can do all these wicked things? and also(if you can) how much extra itll cost me and if it's pay monthly, and what i will need?

just go to your local computer store... and get a wireless router... or wireless network and you will be set to go

ive a WIFi question,
ive a dlink router/modem and a dlink usb adapter. all works ok but it is so unreliable and i cant set it up how i want!
does anyone have any siggestions for a good router/modem?
ive a few requirements!
it cant connect to my pc via cables. my telephone line is in one room and im in another!
not worried about speed. my 9500 only connets at 11mbps!
my setup atm allows this but i cany WEP key it for some reason!
any help would be cool and looking to spend £100 ish. for router and adapter for my pc!

anyway, @fatreg, how does it not set up how u want it?? i have heard alot of complaints with dlink... but thats what I use...
100 should be plenty... but im not sure of another good one :-\

There is another way if you cannot setup the wep key, allow connections to the router from a specific mac address.
assuming you are on XP running sp2, when you are connected to the router bring up the little wireless icon in the task bar, it should come up with connected to '' whatever network" as I recall ( coz I'm sat in front of my mac) if you bring up the dialog box beneath it to get the mac address, (sorry i'm fuzzy read above re mac
)
Write down the info where it says mac address or hardware address.
Go to your router and log in, somewhere it should give you a ' connect from approved or certified machines" click on it and it should prompt you for the mac address/info. enter that info you carefully wrote down,
and the router will only take connections from that machine.
Your router may need to restart after changing the settings my netgear usually does.

tried to ban my 9500 connecting but it still allowed it!!
