I searched and saw it's not possible on many phones (but others you could change that and not startup), but none mentioned the z500a, so I want to make sure.

Is there anyway to change the shutdown image on the z500a? Everything else seems to be changeable but for that.

I find it somewhat odd that Cingular says to me, "Be Safe. Be Courteous." as I turn the phone off.

It is possible yes, but SE do not give the user the option to use it, so you cannot.

Oh well. Weird that they picked such an odd image for shutdown...

Thanks.

That bright orange image is on all Cingular branded phones. I found it a little strange as well, but whatever. It would be nice if you could change it, but knowing the recent crop of s I very much doubt you could do that.

The reason probably dont allow a custom shutdown sequence however is because the phone shuts down very quickly.

Its not necessary to have one.

Here's the logic behind it:
Be Sensible is a public service campaign developed by Cingular to encourage everyone to be more safe and courteous when using their wireless device. Be sensible is all about common sense. It's about using your phone when it's safe and when it won't disturb those around you. It's about remembering to turn off your phone before you go into a house of worship, museum, theater, or a movie. It's about not using your phone while driving through bad weather or traffic or when getting into a heated conversation behind the wheel.

The image just has the Cingular logo with the common talking bubble saying "Be Safe. Be Courteous."

If you find someone with the right tools then you can change the startup and shutdown files
