It can be done very easily. You'll need a T28 service cable, or if you use DaVinci (read on) you can also use a DSS-25. I got my T28 service cable off eBay for £3 delivered.

Once you've got the cable or a DSS-25 (DaVinci only), you can use one of the following servers:

1. DaVinci Team - http://www.davinciteam.com/
2. Total Multi-Server - http://www.totalserver.net/

You need to buy what is called a credit or log to be able to do the unlock, which will cost you a few pounds. This is basically a username and password that allows you to use the service. On the websites, you should find a list of resellers whom you can buy the credit from.

If you want to remove the Vodafone branding, you can also "unbrand" the phone, which will cost you another credit.

I have a USB Data cable, will that work? And how easy is to unlock with the method you've given? Is there a different way which is free or is this the cheapest.

No a USB data cable is no good. It must be a T28 service cable.

There is no cheaper or free way. If you take it to a shop, they'll probably charge you £10-15, so you're better off doing it for yourself and having the cable for future use.

Hi!
I want to ask what is the way to change the firmware ot the SE K500 or K700. One way is to find a desk station DSS-20/25. With what another kind of connection I can update my firmware, USB or something else?
And another question, what is the differance between "firmware" and "flash"?
10x people!

firmware = flash when mentioned above. Or when you install firmware on your phone, you "flash" the phone.

A T68 cable or a USB cable is NOT a T28(service) cable. Simple as that. They are wired differently at the plug.
