Well first of all P910 is a Sony Ericsson, there`s already a huge advantage....

Besides that A1000 is a 3g smartphone, so comparing them wouldn`t be fair I think.

I`ve would have choosen the P910 over the A1000 anyway, simply because I feel that Motorola`s products still is lacking some of the qualities SE provides.

But we all have different tastes. That`s what makes it all intresting

Good luck on your choise anyway..

Cheers

no keypad on a1000, so cant reply to sms while drivin. (sometimes a quick reply like "ok" or "yes" or "no" is important). And no, i'm not a wreckless driver.

Come to think of it, P910 has 4 methods of text input while a1000 only has 2 (as far as I know). No actual buttons for T9 or qwerty keyboard on a1000.

Im not actually picking between the two... i just want to make a point a to a friend that the a1000 isnt the best pda style phone.
I mean feature wise.

feature wise both phones are almost identicle as they run the same OS. although i read somewhere that moto will release a fw update with UIQ 3 when it comes available.

one point to consider tho is that your friend will probably be getting the phone on the "3" network. not only is signal and network quality still quite poor - i've heard that the service is limited when it comes to browsing the internet, which is a shame consdering that 3g speeds are greater than GPRS.

main area where the a1000 is lacking is the txt imput - i rarely use handwriting recognition for SMS as i preffer the flip keypad so the a1000 is a no-go for me.

saying that tho the a1000 is slimmer than the p910 and the camera will be alot better.

so on paper the a1000 does seem the more advanced phone - but in reality the p910 is a more well-rounded product.
