> Paypal for non-ebay sales?

Hey guys some advice please...
I am thinking of buying a mobie phone from a user on Esato who is EXTREAMLY new and only has one post, and so no ratings. If I buy a phone from them and pay via paypal am I covered if anything goes wrong? Ie non-delivery?
Please dont ask who it is as they SEEM genuine, but just curious for future reference. I know you are covered for Ebay sale paid through paypal but what about non-ebay sales?

I think to be fair he will have to TRUST you, you have been around for a long time, so if he is willing can post the item on to you as soon as you receive it then fine..you can transfer the money to him no probs.. you can make it public that you have witnesses that the transaction went through and he should have a tracking number to back it up...

Paypal will make his account balance negative until he gets that money back in there (I know from personal experience, where I "stole" another guy's money [It was a scam thing, I was a victim, don't ask me to explain] and my account balance was negative for a long time). Im sure that you can get your money back, but it WILL take a long time and probably isn't worth it. You could ask him to list it on eBay as a 1 item buy-it-now option, and you could click buy

I think if the person withdraws the recieved money and I put a claim in, then his account will show negative and his "pending reversal" will be halted...has happened to me once when the person got worried he did not recieve the item after only 16 hours! lol
