Just got this as my site has been down for 5 days

****** was recently hijacked. All of the sites are now unaffected, and the server is online for a short period of time to allow customers to get their websites downloaded to another web provider. We will be closing down very shortly - as a result of hacking, making our services no longer feasible. We strive to provide the best possible service at little cost. Over the past few months, unfortunatly, the idiots that be have been attacking our servers have meant we are spending far more on fixing the server than we are in profit. The team no longer wish to participate in such a money-losing, time consuming project any more.

Sorry.

If you have paid annually, please e-mail Jonathan.*****@*****.com for your refund. If you are a monthly subscriber, please contact me at this address (or *****@***.co.uk) and I will arrange for some sort of part-payment to cover the remainding month.

This means i don't have any hosting or won't do soon, i need to find cheap hosting and i mean cheap and it must be able to have PHP nukes and those database things,
Anyone give me hosting or know good websites ?

Also how do i transfer current data , parts of forum etc to my new hosting if i find it ?

Thanks

Webmania, http://www.web-mania.com provide php mysql hosting for £20 + Vat per year. They're not bad at all, I've used them many times in the past.

In order to back up your forums etc. the best way is to use a little web based app called phpMyadmin. Many hosts have it preinstalled on their servers, you access it via your hosting control panel.

If you haven't got it already, you can download it from here:

http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page/

The installation to your remote server is very similar to that of Nuke and PHPBB2. There's good documentation with it anyway, you shouldn't have any trouble.

What phpMyadmin allows you to do, amongst many other things, is to back up the entire contents of your MySQL database to a single or multiple text file which you can then download to your PC. This includes not just the data, but the table structures as well.

So, in order to migrate your site, you would:

1. Use phpMyadmin to back-up your entire database and download the resulting file(s) to your PC

2. Download the entire contents of your site, preserving the directory structures.

3. Upload the site files to your new server

4. Use phpMyadmin to restore your saved database structure

Simple, eh?

Yeah, I've still got all your hosting details in my PM. Did you change the passwords you set up for me or are they still the same?

Can you check your hosting control panel for me to see if you've already got phpMyadmin on there? If not, I'll get it uploading

You can have as much space as u want on my server, but I can't give you cpanel or anything... It'd just be FTP access to as much space as u want at http://www.nickorooster.com/m6x/ or m6x.nickorooster.com or sumthing. PM me if ur interested.

Free of course...
