A stable Wi-Fi broadband internet connection via satellite was successfully tested aboard a high-speed train the Paris-Brussels route operated by Thalys. The record bandwidth attained was 4 Mbit/s downstream and 2 upstream at 300 km/h, comparable to the quality of an ADSL+ (asymmetric digital subscriber line plus) connection, a faster variant of DSL.

Yeh you may be right but with competition as with the communications industry these days i predict prices will be kept to minimum to attract customers and encourage useage.
Here's a excellent
animated presentation on how the whole system works.

thats so cool.
i know people like virgin trains have wifi networks on board but i could never work out how they worked.
wi-max must be able to change all this and have a span of a few hundered kms.
then we will all be laughing!

It's actually free ... for now ! I just hope they will put a price that everyone can afford and not only bussiness man who's company pays the bill anyway.
I had a visitor on my apache log two weeks ago and he went fast through the pages so the speed must be very good.
