I recently upgraded my K700i from the R2L firmware to the latest R2AE033. I've found out that the default animation during shutdown is corrupted. I've also found out that some of my themes are corrupted too. Any ideas you guys could give me would be great.

First try a settings reset. If that won't work, get your phone reflashed. Welcome to esato btw. Check out the se india thread too!

I think reflashing the phone properly would solve the problem. Maybe the software itself might have been corrupted. I'm not sure if a simpler way exists.

A settings reset is advisable. Not the full reset!

@all
This has been discussed over and over again, and yet people recommend things that wont solve the problem... the firmware has been corrupted when using SEUS or being updated by a service center... there's no way to fix it by re-using SEUS or having the service center update it again. Doing a phone reset wont help either - period!
Your phone needs to be turned in to a service center that can actually re-flash the phone, not update it!

Thanks guys. Just as cybervisitor said the phone does have some weird problems which were not there before. Should have stuck to R2L. I'll have to check out if the service center would be able to reflash the firmware. Sadly the software systems in SE need to improve a lot if they want to provide nominal customer service.

I had the same prob: a couple of pics corrupted bringing the phone freezing totally while browsing their thumbnails!
Nothing could solve (Master reset, etc.). Just a Service Center (asking them explicitly to flash totally, not just upgrading).
I'd recommend you to wait till R2AL comes available to Service Centers, then go there and have it properly reflashed! In the meantime, try to delete (via BT or cell) the corrupted Themes (and upload them again via another cell).
I couldn't delete my pics (system files undeletable).
Let us know...

Thats exactly what I had in mind Macco. Wait till a solid firmware build is released and then reflash the whole thing again. Hopefully it should work out right the next time. Fortunately for me, only the animation is damaged as far as I can see. I'll wait till the latest version is released. Still I would really like to flash my phone just like a regular bios by downloading from the net. That way I don't have to wait a day, giving my precious phone to someone who'd not care much. Thanks guys

@sureshmilton
You can actually reflash your phone by yourself using
www.davinciteam.com
It will require you to buy a credit (they don't have anything with SE to do, so it ain't free)... it's about 10 euros. You can buy a credit at their homepage (instant) and all you need is a DSS-25 (which I suppose you have since you used SEUS).
It's just a suggestion - not a recommendation! It's up to eveyones own to decide if they want to use a third party solution.

To CyberVisitor
Unfortunately, I don't have the DSS-25 though your options looks really interesting. I just got the phone upgraded by a SE service center here in Chennai.
