Well known consumer electronics reviewer site CNet has pick top 5 phone in clamshell category and MP3 Player category.

Top 5 Clamshell category (April 2005) :
a. Sony Ericsson S700 (Editor's Choice)
b. Motorola RAZR V3
c. Samsung SGH-P730
d. Nokia 7270
e. Samsung SGH-Z107

Top 5 MP3 Music handphone (April 2005) :
a. Sony Ericsson S700 (Editor's Choice)
b. Mitsubishi M900
c. Sony Ericsson Z1010
d. Motorola E-1000
e. Samsung SGH-P730

Old ranking, Top 5 Cameraphone from February 2005 :
a. Mitsubishi M900
b. Sony Ericsson S700 (Editor's Choice)
c. Nokia 6630
d. Motorola E-1000
e. Pantech GI-100

You can read it completely at
http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/handphones/

What surprises me that S700, beside of its age, still held as number one in almost every category. Maybe we should wait until K750 and it sibblings come up.

I dont think S700 has superior MP3 player but as number one in that rank makes me think are other MP3 phones not as good as S700? I always think that it could be louder, support more than 128 mb and has Mega Bass feature. Maybe its just me - sigh -. Maybe other user who has compared this phone with other such as Samsung D500 or even SE Z800 can share experiences with me?

And more, CNet apparently categorized S700 as clamshell phone, not swivel phone or whatever they call it.

Any comments?

Thanks

for as long as I can remember, only saw 3 people using the S700.
undersold, unweildy and over-hyped phone, this S700 is.

You would say that wouldn't you. You have never even owned one.

I have never known even one person say about my phone "God look at the size of that, isn't it ginormous".

Honestly, every single person as said either , "What a nice phone" or "isn't that nice" or "look at that screen".

@Sapibobo. I think it is classed as clamshell because it is simply not flip. If there was a best swivel category then there would not be much competition would there?

that's obvious that all phones are brilliant but since S700i is not as popular as some other SE phones yet, some people are afraid of its size but all in all, S700i has the best features and a new cool design.
and also it's obvious that T610 and now K700i are the most popular and user-friendly phones we've ever seen and there are a large number of tools and games available for them. it's hard to compare new SE phones nowadays since all of them are #1 in their class with no competitors.

S700 may be the best phone. But if in reality very few people buy it, what can you say about that someone who rank it as the top? Is it that he owns one or there is some hidden agenda?

This is call etiquette. You would not tell your boss in the face that he is an @#$%^&*.

The only prob with the s700 is the price. That's why u don't see dogs with s700's hanging around their necks. That's the reason. It's one helluva phone but i made a better choice: the p910 :D This message was posted from a WAP device
