Bookmark topic
Hi all, someone on these forums told me that iTunes AAC Format should work on the k700i, but it doesn't on mine. Anyone else got it working?

Use a DSS 25 to upgrade your firmware from the web. If its less than 12 months old you're still covered under warranty for firmware upgrades.

You only need latest firmware if you keep the itunes fileextension of m4a. The only change in latest firmware was the reckognition of the fileextension. Simply change the fileextension on your Itune encoded aac files to .mp4 and they will play on any K700 regardless of firmware.

My K700i has latest firmware (R2AE033) and recognize aac format (I converted directly from CD using iTunes).
These aac files can be played by media player but CANNOT BE USED AS RINGTONE.
Anyone know why aac files cannot be used as ringtone?
I read from somewhere in esato that aac can also be used as ringtone.
Thanks.

K700 and S700 can not play 'naked' AAC code but it has to be encapsulated in MP4.
iTunes will create .mp4 files containing aac code in it. But some converter create .aac files that cannot be read by the phone.
It has to be .mp4 files.

on early versions of K700i, you have to rename the mp4 extension to 3gp, for example loseyourself.mp4 becomes loseyourself.3gp. The send it to the phone.
The phone will then recognise it as audio and place it in the sounds folder, where it can be played.
Note, k700 can tell if a 3gp is audio or video, and will automaticlly place it in the relevant folder.

@max_wedge : yeah, i forget about that. AAC can be encapsulated both in .3gp and .mp4 files. Thx m8.
