Hi, i have this new problem where about after 30mins the phone has been on, the blue triangle above the signal strength bars dissappears and 'detaches' from the GPRS service. i can reconnect but it used to stay there all the time. any ideas?

You can go to the control panel, internet accounts. see the prefered mode in account setting.

have been to control panel and checked all those settings. setting dont just change by themselves. this was working perfectly and has now just stopped. i thought it mayt have been a problem with vodafone but they say this is not the case...

it may not be so much of a phone issue as it is a network issue. my carrier, for example, has recently instituted a policy where after a specified amount of time of non-use, gprs shall detach itself from the phone. it shall then automatically re-attach when you try to establish a connection.
i don't know what the reasoning behind such a policy is. is it network congestion, cost, etc? maybe someone more knowledgable could shed some light on this.

hmmm that sound like whats happenoing with me.... does this mean that you wont get mss's as you arnt attached to the gprs network so how can the phone have a message 'pushed' to it?

if a message is being pushed, gprs re-attaches first. it hasn't been a problem. i'm not sure what type of messages you are talking about, but there haven't been any problems with receiving mms messages, which require a gprs connection, despite the new policy.
i actually haven't experienced any problems whatsoever with the new policy. just wonder what the logic behind it is...

i've had no problems recieving messages it's just that when i had a p800 the gprs signal was on all the time, but since i got the p900 it only comes on when attached to internet.which i can't understand why this is so when the p900 is an avanced version of the p800.
