Seeing how the z800 is being released this week/early next week...(may the 8th) i was wondering if i would be able to use the se site to upgrade my firmware...(seeing as how i have a unofficial z800 firmware on my v800) also im guessing official faceplates will be out rite away too?

online upgrade now always checks IMEI and from that they know what phone is being upgraded and to date, they have never allowed any kind of cross-grade (if you want to call it that) and are unlikely to do so in the future IMHO

Not only the IMEI but also CDA's will be different. + it may not suffice just to load main firmware and a signed file archive to the phone as SEUS uses with other phones. A full File System Image would need to be flashed IMHO.
Plus, for your information about IMEI, SEUS probably checks the TAC part (first however many digits)

eyah i should prob go back to that idea. when i first was going ot buy a v800 -no1 was sure if u could debrand it... how hard is it to debrand (both by myself or getting someone else to? or shall i jsut get a debranded one from ebay? also will they still sell v800 when z800 comes out? cos i reckon teh v800 will go way down in price once z800 is out..cheers in advance!
