Socialight is an application that runs on location-aware cell phones. Socialight allows you to personalize your view of the surrounding landscape, presenting location-based media and information on a mobile handset that is entertaining, useful and relevant.
Socialight's mobile and web interfaces give you access to location-based media the way you’d like it. Using either the web or your phone, you can:
browse your friends’ and friends of friends’ profiles
subscribe to interest groups
browse Sticky Shadows
What are Sticky Shadows™?
Sticky Shadows are virtual multimedia sticky notes that you "leave" for your friends in specific places using your mobile phone. Your Sticky Shadows can include various media types such as text, audio, photos, video or any combination thereof.
Creating and Receiving Sticky Shadows™
Each Sticky Shadow that you create can be made public or available only to people related to you - like your friends or members of your interest groups.
As you travel around the world, you can find Sticky Shadows that are tied to the places you go. The system can notify you, the traveler - via your mobile phone - any time you step on a Sticky Shadow. As your phone buzzes, it will display the media, along with some information about the person who set it. From there, you can instantly respond, leave your own Sticky Shadow or just move on.
