no, mine comes on when i hit a key, they will stay on for 30 seconds. otherwise the battery will quickly die

Keeping the backlight on will seriously affect battery life and drastically reduce standby time. Why would someone do that?

i used to keep it on auto mode..that way it would only come on while using the phone...why would you wanna keep it on all the time?
