There's no way that there's nothin but sand in it though. They must have added somethin to make it stay, no amount of care & patience could make sand form things like the bars of the gate, they're even curved!

I agree...if you take a closer look you will see bottles of some kind of fluid lying around,it must be a stabalizer or hardner.Regardless it takes a lot of talent to construct something as detailed as this.
