I'm considering getting a USB adapter. If you got any, I'd like to know your experience in this subject.
Particularly, performance and stability. I'm looking at 3com, TDK, Com 1 (not yet out)
TIA

GOwin, if I were you, I'd get an adapter in which the firmware can be upgraded.

That's one of the factors i've considered:
* firmware/software upgradeable
* 1mbps speed (some max at 721 kbps only)
* range (10m minimum)
* price/value

Well - I got 3Com USB. No problems in Linux (with affix stack) but the SW in Windows is rather buggy The hardware is OK though, as in Linux it just shines

Jimak, great to hear that 3com works without problems in Linux. What software are you using with it?

REALLY??!?!
Bluetooth only runs at a data rate of 1mbps? whats that... 128KB/s damn thats double the speed of my broadband but considering this device is to be used also as a computer networking device isn't it a bit slow? Even compared with the age old 10mbps speeds on old coax networks (you know the ones with the funny bnc plugs)

I use Affix (affix.sourceforge.net). Actually, people from Nokia are developing it
You have to disable the normal Bluetooth stack that comes with recent kernels, then just compile and install Affix and ready to go.
They will get even a small GUI application for some basic tasks soon.
I was using it for serial port profile without any problems. Range up to 6 meters in our office, but the speed is not good
