> K700i Joystick Broken!
Bookmark topic
Hey. The joystick on my K700i has broken which is a real ball ach because i cant really use the phone. Also my nearest SE Centre is over 200 miles away!
I got the phone in November 2004 so i will still have warrenty on it right? What do i need to do because ive never had anything like this happen to me before! I have used search but not found anything useful.
Cheers in advance for any replys!

Warranty doesn't cover wear and tear but if it is a manufacturing fault i.e. joystick was not up to standards when the phone was sold you could possibly try and claim it under warranty
You may have to be persuasive though

Dont worry it'll be repaired in warranty. There is no way se can claim you wore the joystick out in 6 months specially since they must be getting a couple of cases of bad joysticks every day. If you search forum properly you'll find numerous posts on this and even one big thread titled "k700 lazy joystick" In other words its a rampant problem with the k series...K7's joystick lasts 6 months max...The new budget phones they are coming with are even worse...1 month if you're lucky.

Just phone my network provider Orange, apparently if the phone goes faulty within 6 months they have to replace it so im getting sent a replacement. If i had phoned 4 days later i would have had to claim on my insurance (which has a £30 excess) because in 4 days i will have had it 6months! So ive got pretty lucky this time.
Cheers all for the replys

@vanquish-I guess any branded item should pass the company's quality standards before it's finally rolled out in the production line. May the author expound further how the joystick was damaged. I am about to replace the whole casing of my k7, joystick included-the silver coating was tarnished a bit but still functioning well. Will cost me around USD 16.00 . Good luck to the author!

This is such a massive problem on the K700, i have known of 5 cases alone on another forum..
it will be fixed under warrenty...just send it express, mine was done in under 1 week, plus you can ask for the latest firmware to be put on it and then you will have literally a new phone again..
