I bought the NW-HD3 and returned it. It was nice and had excellent battery life, but it didn't have good organization or search functions. I wound up buying the iriver H320. I love it, it has decent battery life, it natively compatible with windows and has tons of features like recording, radio, mit plays back the most formats I have found (including ogg and wav) and it has a pretty color screen. What really made me try these two players is the ability to add an inline remote with a screen.

Yeah, i-River rules! My mate has the new 40Gb model, and it rocks! It plays OGG!!!

who actually makes i-river? i was put off by the lack of a big brand name - which is why i was going to go with the sony. i think i'd preffer a no-nonsense player with massive battery life.

gonna check the i-river out, see you in a bit...

iriver is a korean company that started out making flash based MP3 players before they really became popular and has since become one of the larger producers of HD and flash based MP3 players on the market.

I personally liked the Sony, but found that the iriver had more features and didn't require special software... so that made my decision. You may want to wait a bit because iriver is about to launch a new player that is a 20Gb version of their H10 player.

well i've put a conservative bid in for a h320 on ebay - dont think i'll get it, but if i do it'll be worth it. did a little research on the net and i read somewhere that iriver might be adding mp4 playback in a firmware update. any chance that would actually happen?

I'm glad I could help you find the iriver and misticriver.net is by far the best place to go for info and support on all iriver players. I signed up over there a while ago and you might be able to find a post or two by me if you look hard enough.

Good luck and enjoy your H320.

By the way, I have the H120 remote with mine and i absolutely love it. In my mind the unit is not complete without an in-line remote.
