Well, tesco are f*cking me around with my webspace, So I'm now going onto paid hosting. It may take a few days for me to get everything sorted, but from now on you can go to http://www.shock-therapy.org (yes, a proper domain!) to get all your freeware goodness.

If you could update the 'Every Link' thread for me MadBob, I would appreciate it.

Do you know what I was really shocked to learn when I actually stopped to calculate how much bandwidth I would need? I have a 13MB website. I have about 300 unique visitors a day. I use approximatly 40 GB A MONTH in bandwidth!

Thats quite a lot folks

Now I'm going to stop babbling and let you get on with your...whatever it was you were doing. Although this would be a great time to tell me what changes you would like to see to the site (ahem *colors* ahem), as I'll be having to retrofit most of my pages to make them work on the new domain.

Pageviews would be more appropriate as 40 Gb for only 300 visitors seems alot for me !!! Check your apache log for any hotlinking !

No, this wasn't based off any statistics, just on an average of 5MBs downloads per visitor.

Oh bugger! Including the downloads, my site will be about a gigabyte when finished... the bandwidth I have is about 65gig, hope no-one will be to greedy!!

No offense, but after my experience I would say you REALLY need a bigger bandwidth limit. Mine was based on 300 odd visitors a day, 70% or so who visited that page. If you're lucky, you won't be so succesful (never thought I would say that )

Incidentally, I've finally managed to upload my site to the new space and get it kinda working. Sorry to everyone who hasn't been able to download stuff, knock yourself out now.

And if anyone want a VERY exclusive YourName@shock-therapy.org POP3 e-mail account, PM me, I've only got 996 left!

That seems about right. 70% of visitors visit that page. I'm assuming if they're there for freeware then they'll take at least 5-10 files. Some will take less, some will take the whole lot. Add that to the fact that my visitors are growing by 100 uniques/day/month , then you see why I opted for the larger bandwidth. We'll see soon enough if I'm right or not.

Anyone with any experience with the homepages.tesco.net hosting PLEASE tell me if I can get access to the .htacess file, otherwise I can't redirect and I'm gonna lose a lot of traffic.

Why not making one, if they don't allow you will see it directly

I don't have access to the root of the directory, that's the problem. I could put a .htaccess into my space, but I'm not too sure it would actually do anything.

Okay, I love these new webstats. It means I can keep an eye on what you guys are doing

But look at this:

Nokia6630/1.0 (2.39.151) SymbianOS/8.0 Series60/2.6 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 (Google WAP Proxy/1.0) 13 1 0.46%

11 SonyEricssonP910i/R3A SEMC-Browser/Symbian/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 47 1 0.46%

12 SonyEricssonP910i/R4A SEMC-Browser/Symbian/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 11 1 0.46%

13 SonyEricssonP910i/R3A SEMC-Browser/Symbian/3.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.0 (Google WAP Proxy/1.0)

If you can actually read that mess it means you guys are looking at the site via your nice P910s. Oh yea, and one Nokia
